Philosophy

At Lily Spruce, it's our belief that:

Throwing events doesn't mean throwing money at the event.

Vintage elements or heirlooms like fabric, china and vases, lend a design quality that's more authentic than something bought new.

Borrowing elements from nature—twigs, moss, wood—and incorporating them at events can be breathtaking, not to mention memorable.

Creative and clever re-use counts.

Do-It-Yourself touches can absolutely work.

We consider the environmental impact of our events.

Serving filtered tap water is just fine and avoid buying water in plastic as much as possible.

We support vendors who are committed to sustainability and whose vocabulary often includes local, seasonal, fresh, organic, conflict-free, fair trade and zero waste.

We compost and recycle at events, whenever possible.

If at all possible, we will bike or use public transportation to our in-person meetings and encourage you to do the same.
